Napkins and Smoothies

Jonah has started taking an interest in using a napkin during meal time. This is good and bad. Good that he wants to learn. Bad that no matter where we are in the meal, he wants to throw the napkin out right away with a proclamation of "Garbage!" Here was my attempt to capture it one time, but he ended up ripping the napkin, wanting it put back together, and not making the move to put it in the garbage.

Tonight he wiped his hands and face and took off to throw the napkin in the garbage. He took a little longer to return, and we should have gotten suspicious, but figured he was playing with the door to the garbage can or something. When he did finally come back in, he was gnawing on the end of a green onion he had pulled out of the trash! We were so shocked, we couldn't help but laugh! The only way we could get him to eat the jambalaya in his bowl was for me to distract him with conversation while Michelle gave him spoonfuls (which worked until she tried to sneak a bite with sausage. But hey! You have to try!), but he will pull things from the garbage to eat... oy...

After dinner, Michelle made up some smoothies. Jonah sat on the counter while I vacuumed rice from around his seat. He loved his smoothie and could tell us what was in it:

He started with a straw, but insisted on holding the straw rather than his cup, so when he got toward the bottom we braved taking the lid off. This had some funny results.
Jonah does his Joker impression
"Why so serious?"
He also kept getting smoothie from the top lip of his cup on his forehead... Silly boy...
